This post is for Blu:)
Have any of you ever heard of Spanky Spangler? He is a professional stunt driver, daredevil, and stunt man. I first heard about him when I was in college. I received a letter from my little sister in which she wrote that she was watching Spanky jump a truck over the Rio Grande river on TV. This made me laugh, and for some reason I thought the stunt was near impossible. I had never been to the Rio Grande before, and I imagined it to be a very wide river. Years later, I finally remembered to look up Spanky Spangler to see photos from that stunt. Spanky jumped a Rocket Truck over the river, which I thought was pretty cool. And, it appears that the Rio Grande isn't that wide after all... =:)
I love watching stunts like that, and I wanted to see what it would look like if Spanky jumped my beaded fire truck over the Charles River here in Boston, MA. Would this stunt even be possible? And, when you jump a truck like this, would any of the wheels actually keep turning while airborne? I know that when Evel Knievel jumped his motorcycle, one of the wheels kept turning... Maybe one of you car guys could give me some insight...

Also, here's a closer look at my 1943 Chevy fire truck. First I stitched on some black Ultrasuede. Then, I beaded the wheels using size 15 Japanese seed beads.

Here's the front wheel,

and the rear wheel.

What do you think?
