This morning, I finished beading the ghostly driver of my beaded Banksy pink car. I used white pearl size 15 seed beads for this scary skull, and I stitched him directly to bottom layer of my felt foundation.

Remember, the higher the number, the smaller the beads. If you look at the close-up photo below, you'll see the difference. I used size 11 seed beads for the body of the pink car.

Next is a photo of the entire beaded Triumph GT6. I think its a fair likeness of the original British sports car, but I'm not completely finished with it yet. The two layers will have to be stitched together, and I'll have to manipulate the bottom layer to get it looking just right... but, that's just a technicality, and it's all part of the constructive process of my beadwork.

Now that I look at the 'completed' car, I can't help but to wonder what Banksy himself would think. Afterall, this is a beaded replica of his work - a pink graffiti-ed car which is located on Brick Lane in London, England. Maybe someone over in the UK will send him the link to my blog... Ah well... Banksy's probably too busy this week to have a look anyways...

Since August 10, Banksy's work has been on display at The Hospital in Covent Garden, London. The free exhibit, Banksy vs. Warhol, is one that is unlike any other. It features over 40 mixed media works by both Banksy and Andy Warhol. A few of Banksy's pieces are reminiscent of Andy's work. For instance, remember Andy's Marilyn Monroe prints?? Well, Banksy did a Kate Moss portrait in the same style... Anyways, if you happen to be in London this week, drop by to check it out. The exhibit is open through Sept. 1st. I wish I could attend, but I'm not planning to be in London until November...

This did get me thinking though... What if Andy Warhol were still with us, and it was he who admired Banksy's street art, instead of the other way around? I think that if he were to see Banksy's pink car, he'd be inspired to create a brightly coloured silk-screened portrait of it, and it might look something like this:
