I would like to thank everyone who voted for my piece in the last Saatchi Gallery Showdown. I truly appreciate your interest in my work. This week, I have entered my beaded 1978 Datsun pickup truck, Waiting for Dad, into the Showdown. This is the 10th round out of 12, and the finalists go head-to-head for a chance to have their piece displayed at the new Saatchi Gallery in London.
For those of you who are new readers, the Saatchi Gallery is a gallery for contemporary art that was opened by Charles Saatchi in 1985 to show his collection to the public. When it first opened, it ran a series of exhibitions of many American artists, including Andy Warhol. The gallery has been a major influence on art in Britain since its opening. Many artists shown at the gallery are unknown to the general public, and showing at the gallery has provided a springboard to launch their careers. It would be a great honor to have my work displayed at this gallery...
If you have a moment, please stop by and VOTE for my beadwork. Thanks so much:) You can also view my Saatchi Gallery HERE. Enjoy!
