>Tiny Caterpillar
>
Now that yesterday's post has finally sunk in, it's time to show you my idea for this year's "Bead-It-Forward" Breast Cancer Donation Project. Jeanette Shanigan is encouraging all bead artists to participate by donating a beaded square which will be sewn into a beaded quilt. The finished quilt will then be auctioned off at this year's Bead & Button show in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The proceeds will benefit breast cancer research. The title of the quilt is "Metamorphosed Like the Butterfly", so all squares must reflect butterflies. You can view some of the finished squares HERE.

Most other people are doing butterflies, so I decided to do a caterpillar just to be different. Here is a scan of the caterpillar I plan to attempt.

This caterpillar eventually becomes a beautiful Black Swallowtail butterfly, which is the second one in the photo below.

The beaded portion of the square will measure only 1.5" x 1.5" square. I hope I can get a decent amount of detail into this tiny piece...
Wish me luck...
Also, I would like to point out that a friend of mine encouraged me to create a myspace page. It needs some work, but I'm hoping that it will act as an ad which will drive more people to my blog. How do you feel about this? Do any of you have myspace pages and if so, what has been your experience with them? Originally, mine had a cool photo of 'Rudy's Dream' in the background, but I felt that it was too distracting, so for now, I'm keeping it simple, but I feel it needs something...
Please take a peek, and let me know what you think.
