I'll be the first to admit that I'm no expert when it comes to painting, but I don't let that stop me...
After cutting out an odd-shaped piece of canvas paper, I painted a California sunset on the 'western' side of it using acrylics. This piece is inspired by The Doors' song, The End, so the sunset represents Los Angeles, CA, the place where Jim Morrison's musical career began...
After my miniature painting dried, I put the canvas paper inside the shadow box...
...and I laid my blue beaded bus on top. You can see the sunset through the front windows of the bus. I think I like looking at my painting through the clear vinyl; it seems to make the colours blend well. What do you think??
