>Square-stitched Flame
>

Work has been keeping me quite busy lately, so unfortunately I haven't had time to work on my owl. But, this morning I had some free time, so I looked through my 'UFO' (UnFinished Objects) box. I really don't have many unfinished pieces that are worth a second glance, except for this one. It is a square-stitched panel of a flame that I charted myself. (This piece really should have been loomed, but the first time I tried to use a loom, I got frustrated and never pulled it out again...) I probably started this 3 years ago, and I also made another smaller panel just like it. I used size 11 seed beads, and as you can see the black ones aren't the same type as the rest...
Anyways, my original intention was to create a hatband out of it, but I decided against that, and now I want to finish it somehow to make a bracelet. The beadwork measures 6.5" x 1.75" wide. It wraps around my wrist perfectly, but I'm puzzled as to how I should finish it. I want both ends to meet in a seamless fashion, but I just don't know if that's possible...I could use the panel as part of a larger piece such as a belt, but I think I would wear a bracelet more often...Maybe I could sew a velcro strip onto it somehow, but I am trying to refrain from going that route. Another option is to attach the entire panel onto a piece of Ultrasuede, then attach a velcro strip or snaps...hmmmm....maybe I'll do that....
If anyone has any other ideas, I would be more than happy to hear them:)
