>Sneek Peek: University Place Gallery
>

Yesterday, I happened to be in Cambridge, so I stopped into University Place to see if my bead-painting was there. University Place is located at 124 Mt. Auburn St. I had never visited this building before. It is only a 3-minute walk from the Harvard Square T stop, which is very convenient. This brick building is a very modern office complex occupied by Harvard University. The gallery is on the first floor.

When you first walk in, you will enter a spacious lobby area where there are quite a number of artworks from the Cambridge Art Association's Northeast Prize Show.

Then, as you keep walking, you will enter a large hallway, where even more paintings are! Art in all mediums line the entire hall all the way to the end of the building! And, that was where I saw my beaded Green Line trolley! Gasoline Districtis hanging on it's own little wall in between two large windows which look out to lovely courtyard. It is interesting to see my beadwork in this type of public space! On this visit, I noticed only a few people walked by, but they did seem to notice the new artwork...University Place Gallery is open Monday thru Friday 9am-6pm and Saturday from 9am - 1pm. I think I'll stop in again on May 29 for the reception & awards to check out the scene. If you happen to be in the neighborhood, I hope to see you there! :D

Also, if you happen to be in the Los Angeles area in the next few weeks, don't forget to stop by the SCIART Center in Camarillo and check out my beaded Time Traveler Trilogy. If you go, please take photographs and share them on my Facebook page! Thanks for your interest in my beadwork!
