>Say Thank You
>

This is the badge that firefighters wear in Sparks, Nevada. Sparks is just east of Reno, NV, and approximately 90,000 people live there. The Sparks Fire Department has 5 fire stations with roughly 102 personnel. They work hard every single day to make sure everyone remains safe from potential danger.

On Sept. 11, 2006, 6 yr. old Irene drew the above picture to give to her local fire station in Sparks. She wanted to say thank you for everything they do for the community. She also drew the second picture just last week. Thank you for sharing your artwork with the world, Irene=:)

We all appreciate our local fire department, but how often do we actually say 'thank you'? Do you only do it once a year when you donate your spare change into the boot? If so, think about bringing the kids down to the fire station someday. It will be a visit they'll never forget, and, you'll brighten a firefighter's day by thanking them in person=:)
Also, if your child would like to contribute artwork to this blog while I'm working on my beaded fire truck, please send me a scan or a photo of their piece along with your child's first name & age, and I'll post it:)
