Quick Beading Project
I hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend! I didn't have as much time to do beadwork like I had wanted to do, but I did have a couple of hours, so I decided to work on something small. Check it out:

I had this 1/2" covered button on my worktable for months. I remember that I covered it with a tiny piece of felt, and a scrap of corduroy fabric. The felt adds extra space for your needle if you plan to do bead embroidery.

Using size 11 red seed beads, I beaded around the base of the button first by doing the backstitch. Then, I worked my way toward the center. A little while later, I had completely covered the button with seed beads! Now, it's a lucky ladybug! :D

It does look almost finished, but I want to stitch through the beads a bit more to make sure they are secure. I am also considering adding some size 15 seed beads, as well as a pair of antennas! I hope to have this button listed in my Etsy shop later this week. This little project was fun to make, and a good way to make use of a small amount of time. Are there any special projects you like to work on when you only have an hour or two?
