>Owl Painting
>
Today, I finally had a day off from work, so I continued working on my owl. First, I carefully trimmed away the excess fabric. This is difficult to do without snipping one of the threads...

Next, I traced the shape of the owl onto my 8" round canvas. I also sketched in the rest of the tree.

Then, I began painting...

Here is my finished painting (2.5 hours later). It is sort of a psychedelic night sky in a silvery-purple. I guess that's what happens when I listen to Porcupine Tree's Voyage 34 all day. LOL!
Next, I plan to stitch my owl onto the canvas. I haven't completely decided if the branch should have leaves or not, but the more I look at it, the more I think it does need leaves. So, I'll probably work on those before I stitch the owl to the canvas.
