Here are pics of a pouch that my sister Julie designed for our mother a couple of months ago. Our mother always walks on the beach, and she wanted something small that she could use to keep her car key in. Julie suggested that I do a little beadwork on it to make it pretty, so I bead-embroidered this little white jonquil flower onto the piece. It measures approx. 1" wide.

My sister Julie loves to sew, and she always has some little household project going (like hemming the curtains). But, she also likes to make her own handbags, and she has come up with some very unique designs. I dream of the day that she & I go into business together and make beaded handbags. This could be a bit of a challenge, since I live in Massachusetts, and she lives in Pennsylvania, but it wouldn't be impossible...I could design the bead-embroidered panel, and she could design the handbag. We would be collaborating artists. Maybe... someday...
