The last few days were quite busy for me at work - so much so that I decided to take today off to continue working on my piece. This morning, I added windshield wipers to my '78 Datsun pick-up truck. I simply used 2 pieces of black Fun Wire. I folded the wire in half, then twisted it a few times. After coiling the other with a pair of pliers, I tucked each wiper under a layer of felt. Then, I stitched them both into place. I really like how they look. And, since they're wire, an inquisitive viewer of the finished piece will be able to gently move the wipers up and down on the windshield to change the look of the piece, if they so desire.

Also, this morning, I started beading the body of the vehicle. I'm using size 11 opaque luster orange seed beads. What a perfect color to use on Halloween...

Speaking of that, I'd better get to the store and buy some candy for all the scary little monsters that will show up tonite. As I wait for them, I plan to do beadwork while listening to some CrEeEpY music - GhOsTs oN mAgNeTiC tApE by Bass Communion. This recording was inspired by scientist Konstantin Raudive’s famous attempts to communicate with the dead and subsequently capture his efforts on magnetic tape. You can listen to GhOsTs PaRt 2 on their myspace page. It is peaceful and interestingly beautiful, and is best experienced in a silent environment. If you are interested in hearing some examples of Konstantin Raudive's experiments with Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP), be sure to check out his myspace page.
