This morning, I received an email from Montserrat Gallery (New York, NY). They wrote to extend an offer of representation in their New York Chelsea Gallery. Apparently, this gallery was located in SoHo for 16 years, and has recently moved to a more viable district in New York.
Here's the gist of their offer:
...a signed contract accompanied by payment of $1,900 shall constitute a completed application to participate in the Salon Exhibition. The artwork shall be on exhibit for one (1) year. One year for the purpose of this contract is defined as January through June plus September through December or any 10 month combination of these months. Two (2) selected small works, not to exceed a 100 inch perimeter, or one (1) larger work not to exceed 40 inches will be continually on display in the gallery with one (1) additional work to be held in reserve, available for installation when a sale occurs. In the event of sales the Artist will arrange for an additional work of art to be sent to the gallery as soon as possible...
...etc., etc., etc...
I am thrilled that they have invited me to show my work, but I'm still not sure I'm ready to exhibit my work in this manner. At least, not yet... I would need to create quite a few more pieces before I even considered an agreement such as this...
