>Memories of Moosie
>
Moosie was my family's Golden Retriever when I was a little girl. One hot summer day, when I was about 4yrs. old, I remember walking with Moosie & my mom at Frontier Park in (my hometown) Erie, Pennsylvania. We stopped at an ice cream stand along the way. I don't remember what flavor I got, but it must've looked good because not a minute later, Moosie just turned his head, and ate the ice cream right out of my hand! I (of course) cried, and my mom went back to the ice cream stand to get me another cone. The man selling the ice cream felt so bad that he gave me another one for free:) I think I was mad at Moosie for at least 15 minutes, which is a long time when you're a little kid. Anyways, I made sure he didn't get my second ice cream cone....
I was having a bowl of Dark Chocolate Gelato when I started working on my beaded Moosie, which is what inspired me to share that memory with you.
First, I stitched a small piece of Lacy's Stiff Stuff to the back of the dog, so that the felt would hold the weight of the beads. So far, I'm using all size 15 seed beads for him. I'm using a Transparent Rainbow Brown, as well as the same gold color that I used for the steering wheel and rear-view mirror on this Datsun pick-up truck. In real life, Moosie was actually a lot lighter in color. He was almost like a bleach-blond, but most of those dogs are the colors that I chose to use. I just hope that I can make him as detailed as some of my other work....
