Youth has no age.
~Pablo Picasso

Today is my birthday. But, I didn't wake up feeling older. In fact, in many ways, I still feel like I did in the above photo. (This picture was taken when I turned 6 years old.) I'm still trying to learn life's lessons, as well as how to love. I also look at each day as a chance to try something new.
I believe that what Picasso said is true, as long as you stay in touch with your inner-child. For me, that means creating art everyday. Creating beadwork brings back many memories of doing collage and making jewelry with my sister when we were young. I've never had any formal training in the visual arts, so I feel that I create beadwork much like how a child paints a picture. But, since there are no rules in art, this allows me to be a free spirit - just like a child...
I'm looking forward to another year of beading. The coming year is my 'blank canvas'. But, I'm not afraid. I'll just take it one bead at a time.
How do you nurture your inner-child?
