Dear friends, I hope you had an amazing summer. I have been very busy traveling, beading, and hiking! It has been so wonderful just being out and about, visiting with family, and enjoying nature. I hope you have been doing the same!
My recent hiking excursions have been pretty epic. About a month ago, we returned to New Hampshire, and hiked the Franconia Ridge… 9 miles of trail, 3900’ of elevation gain, 3 mountain summits and 11 hours later, a large veggie pizza was definitely in order!
And just last week, we visited Acadia National Park. Compared to New Hampshire, most of the hikes are, well, a walk in the park.. or so I thought. Until I hiked a few of the park’s most difficult trails, including Pemetic Mtn., Perpendicular Trail, Jordan Cliffs trail, and the Precipice. Perpendicular Trail was a 900-ft. rock staircase that went straight up. Jordan Cliffs and The Precipice have been on my bucket list for awhile. Both of these hikes involve exposed ledges and iron rungs, but The Precipice is unlike any other trail. Its a 1000’ vertical non-technical climbing route, definitely not for those with a fear of heights (or death)! I am so grateful to have been able to accomplish it this year- I can’t wait to go back and climb it again!

In between all of that, I have been working on my Etsy shop. Here is a quick pic of my latest custom order - a pair of beaded Shih Tzu earrings…
…as well as a photo of the dog who inspired them! Adorable, right? :D
