>Haiku
>One of my latest interests is reading & writing Haiku. Haiku is a form of Japanese poetry that usually contains three lines with a total of 17 syllables, although some can contain 11 syllables. Something inspired me to write one that would describe one of my pieces. I've been doing it ever since, and it has actually become quite a nice way to pass the time.
This is a photo of my latest piece, Great Blue Heron. Here is the Haiku I wrote:
Summer sunset fades, Quiet heron standing still. Hunting before dark.
I think these poems are the perfect way to describe my beaded pictures, as they are usually inspired by nature. I love writing this poetry, although it doesn't come naturally to me. It usually takes me several tries until I come up with one I like. You might be seeing more Haiku posts from me in the future:)
