Yesterday, I had to get up early to take my Buick in to get an oil change. I also had a small list of things for them to check on my car and I didn't feel like waiting. So, I walked home and decided to do a little beadwork.
As you can see, I started working on Genna. I'm using an opaque matte white for her. I'm not sure what the actual name of the color is, but these beads have sort of a rainbow shimmer, as well. They are quite different than the ones I used for Eliza. It's hard to tell in the photo, but I'm also using some clear beads for her hair around her face. I don't know if it contrasts with the other white as well as I'd like, but I'm going to keep going with them...
Later, I went back to pick up my car, and luckily they didn't find anything particularly wrong with it. In fact, the woman who I always deal with said "That car is in damn good shape for almost 20 years old." This is probably because I keep putting money into it. LOL!!...I was hoping they'd fix the A/C on it, though. About a week ago, the air gradually got warmer, and it was not a good time for that since it's been 100° everyday ... The dealership thinks it might have a leak, but they couldn't find where, so they put some dye in it, and I have to take it back in a week. Also, they put a little chrome panel that I found at the junkyard on for me, which makes it look 10 times better. However, on a more discouraging note, they told me that an exterior part I'm missing that covers the door-post is discontinued... Looks like I'll have to search some more junkyards for that... :(
Today it looks like a rainy day in Boston. Of course, this can change in a minute. But, so far, it's a great day to stay in and work on my piece. Please feel free to drop me an email or a photo of your sheepdog:)
