A few weeks ago, I submitted an application to EBSQ's juried division - EBSQ Plus. This group's goal is to help bring high end artwork to collectors and hopefully bring a living wage to its artists. This was the first time I ever entered anything that was juried. I had to submit photos of 5 different pieces for consideration. You can view a list of the newest members HERE.
Today, I received my letter of acceptance:
Congratulations! You have been accepted into EBSQ Juried Artists!
Admittance isn't easy; a two-thirds majority from the 15 peer jurors is
needed for acceptance. Jurors are only human, and have different tastes
and opinions. One juror's nay is another juror's yea and you may see some
contradictory comments in your feedback. But we do hope you'll find
something positive upon which to draw from the comments included.
You'll find your feedback below.

WOW, lots of time in these. More patience than I have. Very original
idea. I haven't seen anything like this ever. Love the way you work the
beaded area then pull the background in as part of the extended beaded
piece. Great job on the descriptions too.

Your bead work is fantastic. But the painted canvases behind really
detract and cheapen it imho. I would strongly consider other ways of
mounting the bead work.
-
WOW! You just took beading to a whole other level!
-
Very interesting technique!
-
Unique! The artist has clearly explored this medium and shows
technical proficiency and comfort enough to explore nuance and mixed media
while maintaining the use of glass beads as the primary focus.

These are magnificent works of art and so unique. I especially love
the owl, just as much for the story as the art itself. They are all
gorgeous!

Yes: I have to say this is QUITE different
- and that is a good thing. Amazing skill and patience like a saint I
bet.
Kudos on being original!

Your ability to 'paint' with seed beads is nothing short of amazing. I
am truly impressed. I am particularly fond of the three-dimensional
look of "The Messenger", with the cast shadow effect. However, I think
your beading is tremendously much better than your painting; while the
effect of a beaded panel mounted on canvas is interesting, the
amateurish quality of the painting around it detracts greatly from the overall
effect. Work on making your painting as good and vibrant and
interesting as your beadwork, and I think you will have a winning combination.

Very professional portfolio consisting of beautiful and unique work and
thorough statements.
