Thanks so much for your comments on my last post. This has been a tough week for me, but I'm trying to keep moving forward. Slowly but surely, my beaded self portrait, The Maxell Girl, is coming together. Here's what I've accomplished:

First, you'll notice a close-up of the beaded lampshade. I used size 11 seed beads for that. Then, I began to cover the edges of the beadwork with more felt. I also stitched sterling silver wire legs onto the Le Corbusier chair. Next, I'm going to add a little felt around my hair. Then I will stitch the table (which is not shown) to the front of the piece. I believe that most of the beadwork is finished, so all I have left is the canvas background for this piece.
Since this piece is nearing completion, I've begun to think about what to bead next. I am anxious to start out the New Year with a new project idea. But, I need your help to decide, so I created a poll which is located at the top of the sidebar. The choices are: the Beatles' Yellow Submarine, The DeLorean from Back to the Future, a Boston trolley train, the original Batmobile, a gangster car, or a dragster. I think that all of these vehicles would be fun to recreate using beads, but if you have any other ideas, please leave me a comment. Thank you for participation, but most of all, thank you for your interest in my work=:)
