>Czech & Venetian Glass Accents
>
This week, I have been working on my beaded Campanile. This will be the bell tower in my beaded St. Mark's Square painting. I normally use a lot of seed beads in my work, but I wanted to do something a little different for this tower. Since the original tower collapsed once in real life, and the current tower is apparently sinking, I wanted to use a few different types of larger beads for accents.

In addition to the glass cube windows, I have used quite a few rectangular orange Czech glass beads that I purchased in the Czech Republic. (These look like large bricks to me!) The 3 large brown tube beads are Murano glass which I actually purchased in Venice. The small green glass flower beads were purchased on the island of Murano. And, I have started to use a mix of Bronze seed beads, as well.

Semi-beaded St. Mark's Square (Venice, Italy).
Bead embroidery on felt. 12.5" x 18" (32cm x 46cm).
I think these beads will add some visual excitement to what seemed to be just a plain old felt tower before.... What do you think? ;)
