Custom Beaded Bulldog Brooch & Red Afghan Hound

Dear friends, I hope you are enjoying the summer! I have been keeping busy with new beading projects as well as working backstage in the theatre. Things have been a little crazy the past couple of months! Here are some of my latest works. The first is a custom beaded American Bulldog brooch made for a friend’s daughter’s 12th birthday. This piece was inspired by a photo of Audrey, a bulldog who passed away recently. More recently, I completed a made to order beaded Afghan Hound in a red color! I posted pics of this on Facebook, and someone asked me if I sold a beading pattern for this piece. I haven’t written a pattern yet, but I am thinking about it. The most difficult part of creating this piece is the tail. I make the dog’s tail differently every time so I have no idea how to explain how to do this!

In between all of that, I am also working on a new flamingo piece. As you can see on this TikTok video, it took me while to sketch and cut out all of the felt to create a beading foundation. But I am finally starting to bead a row of flamingos using Japanese size 15 seed beads! You can follow the progress of this piece on Facebook or Instagram. Can you guess what I’m making?
