>Crazy Goals
>
I've been working on my beaded self portrait almost all evening. Now, all I have left is to wait for the paint to dry. Then, I can stitch my beadwork to the canvas. In the meantime, I thought it would be a good time to jot down a few goals for 2008. Here goes:
Spend more time beading.
Organize my seed beads.
Launch my website.
Get more pieces published.
Enter more shows.
Attend more art exhibits.
Shop for beads in the Czech Republic.
Remain anonymous.
Yes, you read the last one correct. I have decided to start beading under my alias The Lone Beader. I have been toying with this idea for awhile now, and finally, one of my best friends inspired me to do it. This means that I will now sign all my pieces with this name. I will also enter all shows and competitions using this name, and I will submit all work for publication under this name. I would also like to be referred to by other bloggers only as The Lone Beader and it's definition.
Why? Because this is the name people know and love, not my name. Also, because art and beadwork should not be a competition. But, since it's someone's bright idea that it should be, I'm no longer going to use my name. I do beadwork because I love to do it, not because I want to see my name published or displayed somewhere. I also love to teach people about bead embroidery and inspire them to think outside the box, and perhaps create their own pieces someday. Sound crazy? I'm sure it does. But, remember, one of the requirements of being an artist is to be crazy;)
Happy 2008!
