>Constructing a Beaded Tank
>
Here's the latest on my beaded M1 Abrams main battle tank:

I have been doing a lot of tedious detail work to it. I added some size 15 bronze seed beads to bring out certain lines on the tank. I also stitched on another (green) zipper for more traction, and I began lining the white felt edges just a bit with either more beads and/or sand-coloured felt.

Then, I cut some pieces of heavy 12-gauge coated copper wire (that I used for my beaded motorcycle) and stitched them to the back of the piece. I did this because I needed a way to support the artillery (since it is made primarily of felt & thread).

The wire support system will also help to add dimension and realism to the tank.

As my beaded tank slowly comes to life, I can't help but to think of all of the men & women who are serving in the military overseas and at home. These brave soldiers have made countless sacrifices to serve our country and to help others in less fortunate parts of the world. One small sacrifice is that many will not be home with their families on Thanksgiving. I hope that wherever our troops are stationed, that they have a safe & memorable holiday feast, and I hope that all of you do, too!
