I hope everyone has enjoyed the weekend! I have been keeping busy working on my Etsy shop. In honour of the Memorial Day holiday, I listed a tiny American Flag keychain/pendant that I am very proud of! I also added a few more items to my Sale Section - mostly earrings! And, I did a little beading! The other day, I got a package full of beads & jewelry-making supplies from Auntiesbeads.com. Inside were these interesting pinbacks with mesh discs - I really want to try them out!

Yesterday, I had a couple of hours to do beadwork, so using a bag full of mixed seed beads, I decided to try doing some improvisational bead embroidery. I had this idea that I wanted to make a series of brooches inspired by the planets in our solar system. So, I cut out a small piece of felt, and started stitching on beads. After awhile, my felt was completely covered with beads in colours inspired by Planet Earth.

Now that I look at my beadwork, I'm thinking it should be a large beaded button instead of a brooch! What do you think? As soon as I decide how to finish this, I will list it in my Etsy shop. Have you ever started a project, and it turned out to be something completely different than you had originally planned?
