>Beautiful Beadwork in St. Petersburg
>
During the last few days of my trip to Russia, my friends & I took the high speed train to St. Petersburg. What a beautiful city! I haven't had time to upload photos to my Flickr quite yet, but I will say that the art museums, parks, canals, and generous people make this city a joy to visit. Even though I don't speak Russian, I felt very much at home there! During my 4-day visit, we went to the State Hermitage Museum, as well as the Russian Museum, and Peterhof Palace. I also had the opportunity to attend an international bead meeting where I met several talented beaders from Russia, as well as a few from the USA!

Here I am with the very talented Rina Prisyazhnyk from St. Petersburg. She makes elaborate beaded necklaces that really make a statement! It was hard for me to believe that she has only been beading for less than 2 years! I spent quite a bit of time with Rina, and even though we speak different languages, we became good friends! :)

Rina was generous enough to give me one of her beautiful necklaces as a gift! She welcomed me to Russia, and hopes I always remember St. Petersburg! I was speechless! Take a closer look below. Also, check out Rina's website (in English) HERE.

I guarantee that I will always remember St. Petersburg. In fact, I hope to create a beaded painting inspired by this city in the near future! :D
