>Beadwork Inspired by the Beach
>
I hope everyone is enjoying their Memorial Day weekend! The weather has been beautiful in Boston almost all week. I have even had the chance to spend one day at the beach already! I have also been walking at least an hour per day on the beach just to get a little exercise in between beading projects.

So, my latest small work is inspired by something I saw at the beach one day. I posted a photo on my Facebook page yesterday, and some people tried to guess what it was, and finally someone got it right! It's a parasail! One flew right over my beach chair! It was so beautiful, and a very different type of vehicle for me to bead! So, I cut out some felt, and lazy stitched some red & white seed beads. I also used some larger black & gold Czech glass beads that I got on my trip to the Czech Republic! I'm just about finished with this part. Next I will need to create a parasailer! How do you think it looks so far? :)

Also, thanks to everyone who entered my giveaway. Congratulations to Jewels from Niagara Falls, Canada! She won a copy of Laura McCabe's Embellished Beadweaving just for reading my blog! Also, quick reminder for those in Boston, I will be showing a few of my beaded paintings tonight from 7pm-11pm at Wonder Bar in Allston, MA as part of this month's Visual Enlightenment Art Showcase. Please come & support local artists! Also, check out Misty Blue jazz band and Fameless Family's EJ3Robot (AKA Earl Jones) doing an ambient DJ set. Please see the Facebook Event page for more info. Hope to see you there! :)
