>Beaded Shades of Gray

I am making some progress on my sinking St. Mark's Square bead-painting.

First, I cut out more felt for the Campanile. I am still not sure I'm done doing that. Then, I stitched several of my felt pieces together, but I'm not sure they will stay that way. I have a feeling I may end up cutting some of them apart. We'll see...

Next, I started beading the largest dome of my felt St. Mark's Basilica. This is called the Ascension Dome. It is the centre dome - one of 5 domes that cap the Basilica in real life. My felt Basilica will appear to have a slightly different number of domes when I am finished. So far, I am using 3 shades of gray and 2 shades of blue in both size 11 & size 15 glass seed beads as well as black Nymo thread. The black thread darkens the transparent matte grey seed beads I am using. These beads will contrast the lighter gray size 15 seed beads. I want the top of the domes to look like the sun is hitting them just like I remember...

Also, just another quick bit of news. My beaded Pink Miniature Poodle pin is featured in the cutest Etsy Treasury. I hope you'll stop by and take a peek! :D
