>Bead Therapy
>
You probably already know that I am a union stagehand, which is not a 'normal' job by any means. Today I worked at the 'Gahden' setting up Madonna's show. She's doing 3 shows in Boston this week. I was lucky enough to get a spotlight job for the shows, which includes her rehearsals. Her tour brought 27 tractor-trailers full of production equipment. There were 95 stagehands working to set it up. So, as you might have guessed, today was a looooong day at work. And, it could've been longer, but I opted to go home after 10 hours. That was enough for me. I was tired from walking around on concrete all day, and I needed to rest up for tommorrow's rehearsal & show.
This day called for a little bead therapy....
The other day, I found a unique seashell while out on Lovell's Island. Lovell's Island is one of the Boston Harbor Islands. Jimmy & I decided to spend Monday exploring a couple of the islands. You can view photos from our trip HERE... Anyways, I decided that I wanted to make a freeform peyote necklace with the seashell I found. It's been a long time since I made something that is actually wearable....
When I got home from work, I looked through my bead stash, and picked out these colors in an assortment of sizes and shapes:

They're mostly greens, but there is one tube of mixed blues. There's also browns and some copper colored metal beads, as well.

The above photo shows the beads I decided on using, although I'll probably add other colors. They are larger beads than I used for my last freeform piece, so I don't even know if it will work, but I'm hoping it will turn out to be interesting. The photo below shows the initial string of beads that I'm starting out with...Freeform will be a nice project to do in between work shifts, because it doesn't require much thought. You just pick up any bead and weave it in... Of course, I didn't get to the weaving part yet, but just thinking about a new project is very therapeutic... I now feel ready to conquer whatever tomorrow brings:)
