>Back Door Man

Here's what I've been up to the last couple of days:
First, I stitched five pieces of velcro onto the back of my psychedelic blue beaded bus. I did this because I needed a way to attach the beadwork to the shadow box I made. Velcro will allow the beadwork to be easily removed if repairs are ever needed to be made.

And, below, you can see that I've added to my custom-made shadow box. I wanted the box to be able to support itself so that the entire piece can stand on its own. And, if I could explain what I did here, I would. All I can say is that a lot of E-6000 glue was used. Then, I decided that glue wasn't enough, so I used Gaffer's tape on the back, as well. Gaffer's tape is the tape stagehands use in the theatre. We tape everything on stage with this stuff. I like it because it comes in many different colours. But, more importantly, it is very strong, like Duck Tape. The only difference is that it's easily removed without leaving a sticky residue. I like to say that Gaff tape holds the entire entertainment business together. I figure, if it can do that, it can certainly hold my blue bus together, too... :)

Here's what my modified shadow box looks like from the front. I have glued the reverse sides of the velcro onto my shadow box. I also glued my painted canvas paper, and mirror to the inside, as well.

Then, I cut out an image of a man, and glued it to the mirror. All you can see is the back of the man, as he walks on down the hall. I wonder, is he lookin' for the back door?? If he is, he's outta luck. There's only one Door on this British bus...
