>Atypical Door
>
After working all week, last night was the first chance I had to begin my blue bus. So, the first thing I did was take my original drawing and re-size it on the computer. It measured only 7.5" wide, which was not nearly large enough. I use Photoshop to re-size my images, and usually I just print them out. But, this piece is rather large, so I just traced it right from my computer screen in 2 different sections. Now, my re-sized image measures 35cm wide x 20 cm. tall (14" wide x 8" tall). It is 2" wider than my beaded fire truck. (click to enlarge)

Then, I cut out the image, and traced around it on a piece of Pellon interfacing, which I also cut out. Then, I cut out the windows and door of the bus. I hope to make the door of the bus actually open and close, but I have no idea how to do that. It would be easy if it were a typical door, but the door on this bus slides back and forth...So, I'm not sure how to achieve that goal just yet. But, I won't let that worry me. I will just keep moving forward. Next, I will cut out some felt pieces to stack up on top of the Pellon which should create dimension to the piece...
