>Another Day, Another Dollar
>
As it turns out, I didn't end up working Madonna's show afterall. I went to work this morning at 10am, and worked until about 2:30pm, when I was told that there were 3 too many people on the job. So, the three lowest people on the list were sent home. Why did this happen?? Good question. Our union hall got a list stating that the show needed a total of 6 truss spotlight operators and 3 house spotlight operators. But, after the rig was up in the air, I saw that there were only 3 truss spots. Then, I heard that they wanted to add 3 house spots. So, instead of just shifting 3 of the people already on the list to the additional lights, the job steward was told to add 3 more operators....It's not his fault. This was the production's fault. They should know how many spotlights they carry with them. With that said, I ended up going home with pay for the entire day, which isn't a bad deal, except for the fact that I got screwed out of the other 2 shows....Oh well...
The good part was that I got to come home and continue my freeform project that I started last nite. Below is a photo of what I've done so far....For a week that I thought was going to be slammed for work, I'm sure getting the chance to do a fair amount beadwork. You won't catch me complaining about that:)
